“War crimes have been continuously committed in Azerbaijan for 30 years,” said the Deputy Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, General Director Agil Gurbanov at the "High-level seminar on international rules in the management of military operations" (SWIRMO) held in Baku, APA reports.
He said that during this period, the civilian population, infrastructure, gardens, and schools were continuously subjected to fire: “Unfortunately, as a result of war crimes committed during 30 years, there were also great casualties among civilians. No information is provided about the 4000 thousand Azerbaijanis who went missing during this period.”
The deputy minister, stating that mines planted in the region for many years are a threat, noted that after the tripartite statement of November 10, 2020, 379 people became victims of landmines: “So far, more than 156,000 unexploded ordnance have been found and neutralized in the liberated territories. The mine maps submitted by Armenia are inaccurate.”
