"Radio Liberty", funded by the US Congress, broadcasts materials aimed at manipulating public opinion regarding the early elections to the Parliament in Azerbaijan, and we regret to inform you that this information is shared under the heading of "journalist's notes", this was stated in the statement of the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, APA reports.
Noted that by the requirements of the legislation, the application of all foreign media subjects accredited by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Central Election Commission to cover the elections was answered positively.
"However, any appeal of "Radio Liberty" has not been received in this regard. "Radio Liberty" sharing biased information with unknown sources under the anonymous "journalist's notes" is an abuse of the journalist's name and contradicts the principles of media ethics.
Against the background of the above, we consider the attempts of the media to confuse the public opinion with the method of manipulation unacceptable and condemn it," the statement emphasized.
