On June 3, 2025, the next meeting of the Audiovisual Council was held, the Council told APA.
The meeting focused on organizing television and radio broadcasts from the under-construction "Khankendi" Radio-Television Broadcasting Station (RTBS).
At present, television and radio broadcasting in Karabakh is carried out through the broadcasting stations in "Shusha", "Shahyeri", "Turshsu", "Hasanriz village", and several others. Once the "Khankendi" RTBS is commissioned, the coverage area of television and radio broadcasting in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur will be further expanded, as well as the cities of Khankendi, Khojaly, and Aghdara will be fully covered with modern standard digital terrestrial television and radio broadcasting and analog FM radio broadcasting.
During the meeting, the work carried out by the infrastructure operator "Radio Television Broadcasting and Satellite Communication" Production Union to establish a modern TV and radio broadcasting network in the liberated territories, as well as the efforts of the State Administration of Radio Frequencies to identify and put into use available, unused radio frequencies in these regions, was acknowledged and appreciated.
It was noted that currently, TV and radio broadcasting in Karabakh is carried out through several RTBSs, including "Shusha," "Shahyeri," "Turshsu," "Hasanriz village," and others. Once the "Khankendi" RTBS becomes operational, the coverage of TV and radio broadcasting in Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur will expand further, fully providing the cities of Khankendi, Khojaly, and Aghdere with modern-standard digital terrestrial television and radio broadcasting, as well as analog FM radio broadcasting.
Following the discussions, taking into account the information received from the State Administration of Radio Frequencies and the needs of the infrastructure operator, decisions were made to allocate appropriate radio frequencies to the "Radio Television Broadcasting and Satellite Communication" Production Union for the implementation of DVB-T2 standard digital terrestrial television broadcasting and DAB+ standard digital terrestrial radio broadcasting from the "Khankendi" RTBS once it is commissioned.
Additionally, a decision was made to allocate the appropriate radio frequencies for the use of the nationwide and regional terrestrial radio broadcasters operating in the region in order to ensure analog FM broadcasting of the programs of nationwide radio broadcasters from the "Khankendi" RTYS after its commissioning.
