Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) operates in Switzerland and is considered the world's leading shipping company, plans to open an office in Azerbaijan, Alkan Alicik, Executive Director of the company's subsidiary in Georgia (MSC Georgia) said during his speech at the "Black Sea-Caspian Logistics Forum 2024" held in Baku on the topic of "International transport corridors in the Black and Caspian seas", APA-Economics reports.
"MSC plans to expand its activities in Azerbaijan. One of the main elements of this plan is to open an office. The company's decision to enter the Azerbaijani market is related to the country's strategic importance in the field of transport and logistics, favorable geographical position and developing infrastructure," he underlined.
The MSC official noted that Azerbaijan, located at the crossroads of important trade routes between Europe and Asia, actively invests in the development of transport corridors and ports, which makes the country attractive for global logistics players.
