Construction of Aghdam bus and railway station complex nearing completion

The construction of the Aghdam bus and railway station complex is nearing completion, said Tural Abbasli, Advisor to the Chairman of “Azerbaijan Railways” CJSC (ADY) and Head of the Construction Project Management Department, during the National Business Development Forum, APA-Economics reports.

He noted that the work is expected to be fully completed by the beginning of next month: “This is a joint project with the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency. Intercity and inter-district routes, as well as a railway station, will operate here.”

He also mentioned that the design work for the Aghdam-Khankendi railway line has already begun: “We plan to start construction work this year. A contractor has been selected, and mobilization activities are ongoing. This is a 27–28 km railway line extending from Aghdam to Khankendi. We are mainly continuing the railway design along the existing corridor. The railway line to Khankendi was originally opened in 1979. We are working in that direction. Only the location of the Khankendi station has been slightly shifted forward—closer to the city itself.”
