By 2030, it is planned to reduce carbon emissions in the airspace by 50%, said the director of the State Civil Aviation Agency Arif Mammadov, APA-Economics reports.

He stated that Azerbaijan also has set this as a goal. Utilization of renewable energy in the future will lead to a further reduction in emissions: "High technologies, digital development, optimization of flight routes, using new aircraft and environmental compatibility of their engines will result in a reduction in emissions in the future."

He also added that the safe organization of flight in Azerbaijan's airspace has been considered: "Currently, representatives from 80 countries of the world participate in Global ATM Summit held in Baku. One of the main issues is the safe organization of the flights. Additionally, environmental damage during the use of civil aviation in the airspace will be discussed. Issues of digital and high technologies will also be discussed. Organizing such an event during COP29 is highly significant."
