"Azerbaijan’s aviation market is growing faster than global trends," said Maya Marchyniak, Senior Economist at the International Air Transport Association (IATA), at the IATA Aviation Energy Forum in Baku, APA reports.
Marchyniak stated that the country’s aviation growth not only surpasses global averages but also exceeds the growth rates recorded across Eastern Europe over the past decade, and a further 40% increase is projected over the next ten years.
“This will primarily result from a rising number of passengers flying from Azerbaijan. The growth signals high activity — more people are visiting the country and using its domestic air services. A significant portion of this expansion has a direct positive impact on financial outcomes,” she said.
