"Currently, nearly 14,000 trucks, known as “TIR,” owned by local companies are operating in Azerbaijan," said Vali Mammadov, the Head of Communications Department of the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency, at an event titled "Social processes in the Media Landscape", APA reports.
According to him, this represents an increase of 10,000 units compared to 2022:
“This also means new jobs. In the field of passenger transportation, more than 2,200 buses are currently operating in Baku. This means over one million passengers are transported daily.”
“The overall approach is for Baku to join the list of the top 30 best cities by 2030. For that, the transportation system needs to be improved. We plan to slightly increase the number of buses in the near future,” he added.
