"Initial contacts with Iran have already been started in the direction of restoring the land road and railway between the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and other territories of Azerbaijan," Assistant of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmet Hajiyev told journalists, APA reports.
He noted that work in this direction is being carried out by relevant ministers: "So, the practical work has started. The construction of the ground roads and railway lines to cross the Iranian territory and from there to Nakhchivan with the bridges to be built over the Araz River in Aghband, Zangilan continues. Unfortunately, in the last 3 years, Armenia did not take serious steps to construct and advance this line. We can not wait for Armenia to make a decision. As you see, new opportunities emerge in the Middle Corridor and we must establish relations by correctly evaluating these opportunities."
