A citizen of Uzbekistan detained in Azerbaijan has been extradited to his home country, APA reports, citing the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan.
Saidkamol Sattorbek Urinboyev, born in 2000, was handed over to Uzbek authorities in accordance with an official request by the Uzbek Prosecutor General’s Office.
Urinboyev was internationally wanted on charges of large-scale fraud in Uzbekistan and was apprehended in Azerbaijan in February this year. A pre-trial detention measure was imposed against him.
Based on the Convention on Legal Aid and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Cases dated October 7, 2002, an extradition decision was issued. Urinboyev was handed over to the competent Uzbek authorities under escort by Penitentiary Service of the Justice Ministry of Azerbaijan Republic.
