An individual on an international wanted list has been extradited from Ukraine to Azerbaijan, APA reports citing the Prosecutor General's Office.
In accordance with the requirements of the "Extradition Convention" dated December 13, 1957, the extradition of Azerbaijani citizen Hikmet Khanlar Valiyev, has been granted by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
As it was determined that Hikmet Valiyev committed a criminal act under Article 182.4 of the Criminal Code (extortion with threats to obtain a large amount of property) in relation to a criminal case investigated by the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, by making decision on involving him as a suspect an international search was declared for him.
Hikmet Valiyev was detained in Ukraine and was brought to Azerbaijan today under the escort of the Ministry of Justice Penitentiary Service's special convoy.
