The corpses of Azerbaijanis killed in Khojaly were mass buried on the banks of the Gargar River - Madat Babayan

Madat Babayan, who was detained by the State Security Service, testified to the investigation regarding the Khojaly genocide, a statement by State Security Service of Azerbaijan says, APA reports.

Madat Babayan stated that on February 26, 1992, together with the Armenian militants in Khojaly, they set up an armed post at the Khojaly-Ballyca-Khankandi road junction in the direction of Khankandi in order to ensure the concealment of the facts of the looting of property belonging to Azerbaijanis and the mass massacre committed in the city, and three days later while serving in the post he saw that the corpses of Azerbaijanis who were killed in Khojaly were brought in three trucks, laid in the excavated area on the left bank of the Gargar River and were muss buried about 400 meters from that post. He also reported on the robberies committed in Khojaly in February-March 1992. During the on-site verification of the testimony, Madat Babayan provided detailed information about the places where crimes against the civilian population were committed.
