The charges against Azerbaijani lawyer Elman Pashayev, who was detained in Russia, have been revealed, APA's Moscow correspondent reports citing Russian media.
The former lawyer is accused of embezzling 46 million rubles (500 thousand USD) and fraud.
It was noted that Elman Pashayev received more than 46 million rubles from blogger Elena Blinovskaya and her husband, Alexey Blinovsky, under the pretext of releasing them from criminal liability in a tax evasion case.
Note that today Russia's Military Investigation Committee has released information regarding Pashayev's detention.

Former lawyer Elman Pashayev was detained and a criminal case was opened against him, APA reports citing Russian media.
A case was opened against lawyer under the 4th part of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (in particular, large-scale fraud). According to the investigation, in February 2024, Pashayev convinced Alexei Blinovsky that he could release Blinovsky and his wife Yelena Blinovskaya from criminal liability in exchange for a large monetary reward.
After the agreement was reached, Pashayev received a large amount of money from Blinovski.
At present, the issue of choosing a detention measure against him is ongoing.
The former lawyer faces charges under an article that prescribes a fine of up to 1 million rubles and a prison sentence of up to 10 years.
