APA reports quoting Russian media that the 20 year old Azerbaijani, son of the owner of a Moscow restaurant was kidnapped on April 18. After 2 hours, unknown persons called his father and demanded $ 700,000 ransom for the release of his son.
On the night of April 25 and 26, the Russian Interior Ministry’s General Office conducted a special operation in Aprelevka, the town of Naro-Fominsky district of Moscow Oblast, to release the Azerbaijani hostage.
During the operation, head of the criminal gang, 61-year-old Mirzayev Rafig Janbakhish, who was born in Baku, actively resisted the police and was killed. The other 3 members of the gang were arrested.
Makarov pistol, 16 bullets and a silencer were seized from Rafig Mirzayev. “Ak-47” machine gun and one more pistol were seized from a house, where the hostage was taken.
Earlier, Rafig Mirzayev has been also detained for kidnapping and repeatedly served time in prison. For similar crimes, he was declared wanted in 2010.
The fact is being investigated.
