Internationally wanted person arrested in Bosnia and Herzegovina extradited to Azerbaijan

A person wanted internationally has been arrested in Bosnia and Herzegovina and extradited to Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Justice told APA.

It was noted that the Ministry of Justice continues effective cooperation with the relevant authorities of foreign countries in locating and returning individuals wanted internationally, accused of committing crimes. On June 12, the extradition of another person put on the internationally wanted list by the National Central Bureau of Interpol in the Republic of Azerbaijan was carried out by the Ministry.

Thus, Ramil Ramiz Mammadov, a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who was accused of seizing 120,000 manats belonging to the victim by committing robbery beforehand in collusion with a group of individuals (Article 181.3.2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan), was located in Bosnia and Herzegovina and arrested.

The Ministry of Justice has submitted the relevant request and required documents to the other party, and negotiations have been conducted. As a result, an agreement has been reached regarding the extradition of the individual to our country.

Ramil Mammadov was brought to our country from the city of Sarajevo by responsible employees of the Ministry's International Cooperation Main Department and the Penitentiary Service, and based on the court’s detention order, he was placed in the relevant investigative detention facility of the Penitentiary Service.
