The Ministry of Emergency Situations’ 112 hotline received a report about a fire in an apartment on Fikret Amirov Street in the city of Ganja, and firefighting teams from the Ganja City Fire Protection Department were immediately dispatched to the scene, APA reports citing the Press Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES)..
Upon assessing the situation, responders determined the fire took place in a one-room, 36 m² apartment on the ground floor of a five-story residential building.
Thanks to the swift response of firefighters, the blaze was quickly contained, preventing it from spreading to adjacent apartments.
One person suffering from burn injuries was rescued and handed over to emergency medical personnel, while another individual was found dead.
MES teams also implemented necessary safety measures on-site. Relevant authorities are currently investigating the incident.
