On September 2, 2024, at around 22:00, the Republican Emergency and Urgent Medical Care Center received a call regarding a person suffering from smoke inhalation in the Zabrat settlement of the Sabunchu district, Azerbaijan, Administration of the Regional Medical Divisions (TABIB) told APA.

The emergency medical team recorded the death of a 64-year-old male before medical assistance could be provided.

On September 2, 2024, a fire was registered in the Deep Offshore Platform #4 of the "28 May" Oil-Gas Production Enterprise of the AzNeft Production Union, AzNeft Production Union released information, APA reports.

It has been reported that fire-fighting ships were immediately involved in the scene, the spread of the fire was prevented in a short time and the fire was completely extinguished.

As a result of the incident, Islamov Rafig Isa, born in 1960, an employee of the Specialized Oil-Mining Special Equipment Department #1 of AzNeft PU, lost his life.
