Measures to ensure the reliable protection of the state border and to combat the illegal circulation of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their precursors are being successfully continued, the Press Center of the State Border Service told APA.
On April 18, a drone carrying narcotics from the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Azerbaijan was intercepted in the operational area of the Horadiz border detachment.
A small-sized unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that illegally entered Azerbaijani airspace was detected in time and neutralized through joint operational measures.
During inspection of the site, a total of 543 grams of narcotics were seized, including 8 grams of opium and 535 grams of marijuana.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
