Cooperation with Albania in the field of extradition continues successfully, Press Service of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan told APA.
Azerbaijani citizen Elshan Vahid Salmanov has been detained in Albania for extradition in line with the requirements of the European Convention on Extradition dated December 13, 1957.
Salmanov was wanted internationally after being charged with repeated fraud and fleeing the investigation. A decision was made to involve him as an accused person, leading to his placement on the international wanted list.
He was located and arrested in the city of Rinas, Albania, in October 2024.
Efforts are currently underway to ensure his extradition to Azerbaijan.
