On April 21, as a result of border search and operational measures carried out in the area of responsibility of the "Lankaran" border detachment of the State Border Troops Command, an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of narcotic substances from the Islamic Republic of Iran into the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was prevented, the Press Center of the State Border Service told APA.
During the search operation, a total of 6 kilograms and 600 grams of marijuana was discovered and seized near the border area.
Operational-investigative measures regarding the incident are ongoing.
