The trial of the criminal case of Emin Aliyarov, Rashad Ahmadov, Azer Sarijanov, Elshad Asgerov and Sabuhi Shirinov, who were detained in connection with the assassination attempt against former Azerbaijani MP Fazil Mustafa, has been completed, APA reports.
The verdict was announced today in the Baku Court of Grave Crimes, chaired by judge Elnur Nuriyev.
According to the verdict, Azer Sarijanov was sentenced to life imprisonment, Rashad Ahmadov to 19 years, Sabuhi Shirinov to 20 years, Elshad Asgerov to 18 years, and Emin Aliyarov to 4 years.
Note that as a result of the operation and search measures conducted jointly by the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Security Service, the persons suspected of committing the terrorist act were arrested and handed over for investigation.
In relation to the fact, in the Investigative Directorate of the State Security Service, 277 of the Criminal Code (attempt on the life of a public official or public figure to end his service or political activity or take revenge for this activity) and 228.2.1 (premeditated collusion) a criminal case has been initiated by a group of persons on the charges of illegally acquiring, storing, transporting and transporting firearms, their complete parts, ammunition).
