A large quantity of narcotic substances has been prevented from being smuggled into Azerbaijan, APA reports citing the Press Center of the State Border Service.
As part of ensuring the reliable protection of the state border and combating smuggling and the illegal circulation of narcotic substances, as a result of border search and operational measures carried out in the “Horadiz” border detachment of the Command of the State Border Troops of the State Border Service on May 1, 16 kilograms and 550 grams, and on May 2, 8 kilograms and 118 grams of marijuana intended for smuggling from the Islamic Republic of Iran into the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan were intercepted.
Operational-investigative measures on the case are ongoing.
