The Investigation Department of the Prosecutor General's Office has reviewed the submissions regarding bloggers Tural Sadigli, Ordukhan Teymurkhan (Babirov), and the former rector of Azerbaijan International University, Elshad Abdullayev, who have been summoned to the investigation under in absentia proceedings, APA reports.
The submissions by the Prosecutor General’s Office were reviewed by the Binagadi District Court, and the court upheld them. A decision was made to impose a pretrial detention measure against the individuals.
It is expected that in the near future, the Prosecutor General’s Office will submit motions to impose pretrial detention on other accused persons who were summoned in absentia.
