Irakli Berdzenadze, born on August 14, 1987, a Georgian citizen who was wanted internationally since 2019 for embezzlement and illegal entrepreneurship, and was sentenced in absentia by the Tbilisi City Court on October 25, 2023, has been extradited based on a request from the Prosecutor General’s Office of Georgia, which was approved by the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Irakli Berdzenadze was located and arrested in Azerbaijan in February 2025.
Extradition to Georgia
Based on the Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family, and Criminal Matters dated January 22, 1993, a decision on the extradition of the accused was made, and he was handed over to the authorized Georgian authorities under the escort of the special convoy of the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice.
