In Baku, police officers continue to take action against foreigners without documents permitting the right to reside in the country at various addresses, APA reports citing the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).
In August, employees of the Office for Combating Illegal Migration of the Main Passport, Registration And Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted measures and detained 94 foreign citizens for violating the mentioned laws. Investigations revealed that some of the detainees were not only residing without registration but were also engaged in illegal labor activities. It was discovered that these foreigners had been deceived by unknown individuals from their home countries, who promised to facilitate their illegal transit through Azerbaijan to European countries in exchange for money. Protocols were drawn up based on the relevant articles of the Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan about administrative offenses, and the detained foreigners have been handed over to the appropriate authorities.
