During measures carried out against illegal migration, 12 citizens from various countries were detained, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan said, APA reports.
According to the information, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan took joint measures at different addresses in Baku city against foreigners who don't have documents giving them the right to stay or live in the Republic of Azerbaijan. During the meausers, a total of 12 people who are citizens of various Asian countries were detained for violating the mentioned law.
Responsibility measures have been taken against them according to the relevant article of the Code of Administrative Offenses. During the investigation, it was determined that these foreigners were defrauded by their compatriots with the promise that they would be provided with illegal passage to European countries by allegedly using Azerbaijan as a transit. Investigations into cases of carrying out illegal migration are being continued.
