Algerian citizens pickpocketing in downtown Baku have been detained, APA reports.
The officers of the 9th Police Department of the Sabail District Police Office, acting on received information, detained Algerian citizens 30-year-old Mahdi Sidi Muhamed and 28-year-old Abkari Riad Bourouba, who were suspected of committing a series of thefts in the capital.
Investigations revealed that at various times in the central areas of the capital, they stole mobile phones and other valuable items from different individuals by pickpocketing in crowded public dining venues.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the fact, and investigations are ongoing.
