Slutsky said that the Armenian sources disseminated misinformation.
“I said in Baku that the occupied Azerbaijani lands should be liberated. The negotiation process on the settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is underway within the OSCE Minsk Group and Russia, having partnership both with Azerbaijan and Armenia, plays an important in it. If considering my original remarks, you will see that I made no statement against Azerbaijan,” the Russian MP noted.
Slutsky said he is and will be friend of Azerbaijan, adding that Russia and its representatives are always acting as peacemakers.
Armenian media reported that Leonid Slutsky made statements against Azerbaijan at the press conference in Yerevan and disseminated his remarks.
In this regard, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry issued a protest statement.
