Qatar Airlines will increase the number of flights to Azerbaijan, said Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.
The number of tourists coming to Azerbaijan from Qatar is on the rise, Mammadyarov told a joint press conference with his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani in Baku Jan. 31, APA reported.
“We have decided that Qatar Airlines should increase the number of flights to Azerbaijan,” the Azerbaijani FM noted.
Azerbaijan-Qatar ties are developing day after day, Mammadyarov said, adding that today’s meeting with his Qatari counterpart focused on bilateral ties as well as economic relations.
“We have huge plans. The intergovernmental economic commission is to hold a meeting today. We have decided to further intensify bilateral economic relations in February,” said the Azerbaijani minister.
Azerbaijan is building a close relationship with Gulf countries, Mammadyarov said, noting that Baku may host a meeting of Gulf countries’ foreign ministers this summer.
Mammadyarov outlined vast opportunities between the two countries to develop bilateral ties in the area of tourism.
