Baku – APA. Ukraine doesn’t recognize Nagorno-Karabakh as an independent state and welcomes Azerbaijan’s similar stance regarding Crimea, said Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, 112 Ukraine TV channel reported.

He made the remarks at a joint press conference with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev in Baku July 14

“I want to clearly point out that Ukraine does not recognize Nagorno-Karabakh as an independent state and welcomes Azerbaijan’s similar position regarding Crimea,” said Poroshenko.

The president noted that Azerbaijan and Ukraine have agreed to coordinate multilateral cooperation and approaches in multilateral format, taking into account Ukraine's membership in the UN Security Council.

“Azerbaijan actively supported Ukraine when it was a member of the UN Security Council. Now, Azerbaijan can rely on the firm support from Ukraine during its membership in 2016-2017,” he added.
