The co-rapporteurs of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Stefan Schennach and Cezar Florin Preda, informed the committee members about the outcomes of their latest visit to Azerbaijan.
The co-rapporteurs gave the information during a committee meeting held on Tuesday as part of the PACE part-session, APA’s Europe bureau reported.
Addressing the meeting, Samad Seyidov, head of the Azerbaijani Delegation to PACE, said the co-rapporteurs will pay a visit to Azerbaijan again and prepare a report in this regard.
“At today’s meeting the Monitoring Committee, the co-rapporteurs made speeches on the outcomes of their latest visit to Azerbaijan,” Seyidov said. “Together with the committee members, we discussed the processes taking place in Azerbaijan. The discussions were held very constructively.”
He also said that the importance of dialogue between Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe, negotiations with representatives of NGOs and civil society, a joint analysis of the human rights situation in Azerbaijan with representatives of the Council of Europe were also discussed during the meeting.
“It was decided to send the co-rapporteurs to Azerbaijan again to prepare another report,” the Azerbaijani delegation head added.
