Occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia â€“ flagrant violation of UN system, says FM

He made the remarks Oct.23 at the conference titled “Azerbaijan’s sustainable development goals”.

Recalling the UN four resolutions on the occupation of Azerbaijani territories, the FM said this issue has been repeatedly discussed at the General Assembly.

Mammadyarov went on to add that the UN recognizes the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan and demands the liberation of occupied Azerbaijani lands in accordance with international law.

“According to Article 51 of the UN Charter, Azerbaijan must use its right, and Armenia must understand the inadmissibility of the status quo. Despite the existing difficulties and threats, Azerbaijan is optimistic and is committed to the UN goals and principles,” he said.
