Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Sergey Taruta told APA that V.Aryev’s statement reflects neither the positions of the Ukrainian government nor the Verkhovna Rada.

“We aim to develop not undermine the elations between the two countries. Currently we have very good relations and we should support it as Verkhovna Rada. On behalf of Ukrainian government and parliament, we apologize to Azerbaijan for Aryev’s inadequate statement. Unfortunately, there are many young radical politicians in Ukraine who don’t understand the essence of politics. And this is the result. We're sorry. I hope that Aryev will understand that he made a big mistake”, Taruta said.

Verkhovna Rada deputy Natalia Veselova told APA that Aryev’s statements are his personal approach. “He can never have made such a statement on behalf of the Ukrainian parliament as his statements are completely contrary to Ukraine’s foreign policy. As Verkhovna Rada, we apologize and I think that Aryev should also apologize to Azerbaijan remembering the Ukraine-Azerbaijani friendship. There are friendly relations between Ukraine and Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan is our friend. No one has the right to cast a shadow on this friendship. Especially at such a time, Ukrainian politicians, who love Ukraine, should understand it well”, she said.

Member of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc, Ukraine-Azerbaijani friendship group member Dmitriy Andreyevskiy said that Aryev’s statement is not right and unacceptable. “He seems not to understand what mistake he made. I am sure that he will understand and apologize to both states and peoples for his mistake. No deputy of the Verkhovna Rada has the right to call for the overthrow of the government not only in Azerbaijan, but in no country. He must respect himself, his country and its interests with his statements. We have friendly relations with Azerbaijan. We greatly appreciate the support of Azerbaijan in Ukraine’s difficult days. Now, no one has the right to cast a shadow on these merits”, said Dmitriy Andreyevskiy.

In a post on the social network, Vladimir Aryev called for the overthrow of the government in Azerbaijan referring to the protests actions in Yerevan.
