The sides expressed satisfaction with the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia, noting that the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two friendly and neighboring countries is an example for the entire region.

The joint large-scale projects in transport and energy fields serve regional cooperation, development and prosperity, the minister said, adding that these projects will completely change the region’s transport and energy map.

They expressed confidence that Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project, to be launched soon, will serve an increase in cargo transportation, development of trade and economic relations and human contacts.

Inviting his Georgian counterpart to visit Azerbaijan, Mammadyarov said that such visits open up favorable opportunities for determination of future directions of cooperation between the two countries and agenda of cooperation.

The Georgian minister in turn accepted the invitation, noting that his country is always ready to support Azerbaijan in all important matters.

Mammadyarov gave information about Armenia’s intense violation of ceasefire, its provocative acts on the contact line and along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, and Armenia’s non-constructive position in the negotiation process on the conflict’s settlement. “This conflict is the main threat to regional peace and security,” he noted.
