14 August 2015 15:27 (UTC +04:00)
Attempts by some authorities in Germany to politicize reporter Rasim Aliyev’s death by disseminating untrue information about his journalistic activities are condemned, the embassy said in a statement to APA.
“An abuse of a person’s tragic death by some [authorities] for the sake of an advertising campaign for some political ambitions is beyond any morality,” said the statement.
The embassy called for avoidance from politicizing the incident and the related criminal case. The statement says that in a series of prompt investigative actions Azerbaijani law enforcement agencies have detained several persons suspected of being involved in the killing of the reporter. The incident is still being investigated. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is in control of the investigation.
