Azerbaijani, Turkish presidents hold phone conversation

Baku – APA. Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev made a telephone call to Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday.

Condemning the military coup attempt in Turkey, the head of state said that the Azerbaijani people and state always stand by the Turkish people and state.

President Aliyev extended his deep condolences to President Erdogan and the families of those who gave their lives while suppressing the coup attempt, and wished the injured the swiftest possible recovery.

Azerbaijan’s president expressed confidence that no power can further force Turkey to turn from the path of development and democracy.

Turkish President Erdogan, in turn, praised the brotherhood demonstrated by President Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan, noting that the Turkish government is taking all necessary measures to stabilize the situation in the country.
