Baku – APA. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev offers Ukrainian companies to take advantage of transport opportunities that Azerbaijan is creating in different directions, Ukrinform agency reported.
President Aliyev made the marks during a press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Petro Poroshenko in Baku July 14.
He noted that the first text project has already been implemented in this regard, and a certain amount of goods have been sent to the east from Ukraine through Azerbaijan.
“There is a need to pay even more attention to this project. The tariffs should be attractive to customers in order to ensure that goods can move in both directions,” the president said.
Ilham Aliyev said that his Ukrainian counterpart was informed about the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway to be commissioned in the near future.
“This is a restoration of the ancient Silk Road and opens up new opportunities for Ukrainian companies,” he said.
The president added that Azerbaijan, together with its partners, is interested in the implementation of the North-South corridor.
At the end, President Aliyev expressed satisfaction with the results of the talks with his Ukrainian counterpart.
