A delegation led by Nguyen Quang Dung, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy of Viet Nam, is visiting Azerbaijan to participate in international events, Prosecutor General’s Office told APA.
The delegation paid respects at the Alley of Honor, laying flowers at the grave of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
They also visited the Alley of Martyrs, honoring the memory of heroes who died defending Azerbaijan’s independence and sovereignty, laying fresh flowers on the graves, and visiting the “Eternal Flame” monument.
On May 19, Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev held a meeting with the Vietnamese delegation.
During the meeting, Kamran Aliyev highlighted the strong political ties and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Vietnam, emphasizing the strategic importance of deepening partnership in various fields, particularly between law enforcement agencies. He noted that long-standing friendship and mutual respect create a favorable foundation for active cooperation based on trust in the legal sphere.
The Prosecutor General detailed Azerbaijan’s efforts in fighting corruption, promoting transparency, and implementing legal reforms, stressing that expanding exchange of experience and information serves mutual interests.
Vietnam’s Deputy Prosecutor General Nguyen Quang Dung described strengthening legal cooperation between the two friendly and strategic partner countries as a natural development. He underlined the importance of continuing knowledge and best practice sharing between law enforcement bodies in the future.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the History Museum of the Prosecutor General’s Office, familiarizing themselves with the corner dedicated to national leader Heydar Aliyev and exhibits reflecting the development stages of Azerbaijan’s prosecution system.
