"Next year, we will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan," President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at the inaugural meeting of the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan High Intergovernmental Council, APA reports.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated that this needs to be strengthened with serious outcomes.
The President of Uzbekistan proposed the establishment of economic cooperations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan and suggested working on 20 priority areas: “Trade turnover should be increased and industrial cooperation should be moved to a new stage, as well as joint projects in a third country should be implemented. During our meeting, we discussed prospective projects worth over USD 2 billion. Today, our business representatives held extensive discussions on the realization of these projects. The Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Joint Investment Fund is also working effectively. If there are projects, this Fund will be expanded as well.”
