"Several mass graves known to the State Commission of Azerbaijan and the ICRC were deliberately destroyed between the period of the signing of the Tripartite Statement and the anti-terrorist operation carried out in September 2023. As an example, grave sites known to the State Commission in Khojavand region, Garadaghli village, Khojaly region, Dahraz village and Aghdara region, Sirkhavand village can be cited," said Gazanfar Ahmadov, secretary of the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons, at the panel on “Addressing the Issue of Missing Persons: Upholding Families’ Right to Know the Truth,” APA reports.
He said that the main task in front of the State Commission is to determine the fate of the missing persons in the first and second Garabagh war: "The State Commission is doing only the funds allocated from the state budget to clarify the fate of the missing martyrs. Some agencies in the world allocate funds for this. Unfortunately, we have not yet received support from such donor organizations."
