"The route that is supposed to connect Azerbaijan's western districts with Nakhchivan via Armenian territory is being discussed within the framework of the trilateral working group on the opening of all economic and transport links in the South Caucasus, co-chaired by the Deputy Prime Ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia," the Spokesperson of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zakharova said during a briefing she held today, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
He noted that the work within the trilateral working group is being carried out within the framework of the trilateral agreements between the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia.
"Moscow's position on the opening of communications between Baku and Yerevan is clear and well-known. We proceed from the understanding that the relevant agreements will be implemented based on mutual consent and mutually acceptable terms, which will meet the interests of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and their neighbors," the Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson concluded.
