The official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Maria Zakharova has commented on the proposal of the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan on signing a mutual arms control mechanism and non-aggression pact with Azerbaijan, APA reports.

MFA official stated in her weekly briefing held today that the best guarantee for the establishment of long-term peace in the South Caucasus is the implementation of the tripartite declarations signed between the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia in 2020-2022: "We are sure that the best guarantee for the establishment of stability, sustainable and long-term peace in the South Caucasus is the quick implementation of tripartite agreements at the highest level."

She noted that this is a road map without alternatives for the reconciliation of Baku and Yerevan. This also includes the preparation of the peace agreement.

Recall that on January 28, Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister of Armenia, during his speech on Army Day noted that they proposed to sign a mutual arms control mechanism and non-aggression pact with Azerbaijan.
