“If the Armenian government is conducting direct negotiations with Azerbaijan on the restoration of transport links without Russia's participation, then let them do it ‘for the sake of God,’” Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov stated while speaking to students at Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
He noted that the trilateral commission dealing with this issue (with the participation of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia’s deputy prime ministers) no longer convenes.
Nevertheless, according to Lavrov, “despite all the differences and inconsistencies, Russia and its counterparts "understand who is on which side, there is a desire to agree on parallel processes, and results have already been achieved.”
