President of Kazakhstan met with speakers of parliaments of TURKPA member states

On June 12, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, met with the speakers of the parliaments of the countries that are members of TURKPA, APA reports citing the Press and Public Relations Department of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament).

The Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, participated in the meeting.

At the meeting, the President of Kazakhstan noted that TURKPA has a special impact on the economic, cultural, and humanitarian development of the countries, and its potential should be used to achieve the common goals of our peoples.

Recalling that Kazakhstan held the chairmanship of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) last year, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev provided information about the work done during this period.

Highlighting the role of TURKPA in deepening cooperation among Turkic states, the President emphasized that strengthening cooperation is especially important amid modern challenges. According to the Head of State, Kazakhstan attaches special importance to inter-parliamentary relations and people’s diplomacy among brotherly countries. TURKPA is a prestigious international organization and a unique institution that enables the deepening of cooperation. Joint activities within the framework of this organization have great significance.

“Kazakhstan fully supports the parliamentary diplomacy of the Turkic states. Together, we will successfully overcome these difficult times and give a strong impetus to the development of our economies,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev concluded.
