President: Georgia and Azerbaijan's strategic friendship and cooperation are exemplary

I express my special gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev for receiving me, said the President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, in a press statement following his one-on-one meeting with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, APA reports.

The President of Georgia said that this is his first official visit since being elected president, and it reflects the strategic relations between the two countries: “We also shared our views on the challenges in the South Caucasus region and the ongoing processes in the world. There is a solid foundation to strengthen cooperation between our countries. Our friendship is based on mutual respect and consideration of each other’s national interests. We understand the value of mutual trust and the spoken word. Therefore, the strategic friendship and cooperation between Georgia and Azerbaijan is exemplary.”

Mikheil Kavelashvili noted that both nations stand together in the struggle to preserve their values: “I believe that our strategic partnership and friendly neighborly relations will further strengthen and enter a new phase.”
