Following a successful military operation in Garabagh in September 2023, Azerbaijan has reasserted its dominance over the fractious breakaway region, bolstering its regional security in the short-to-medium term. "We expect incumbent President Ilham Aliyev to win the February 2024 presidential election comfortably. There are little to no signs suggesting that President Ilham Aliyev's political power will be challenged in a meaningful way," FS says.
