"We all recognize that justice is essential in a changing world, especially for the Global South," said Charles Peter Mwangi Nyambura, Program Manager of the PanAfrican Climate Justice Alliance, during the "Local Action, Global Change: NGOs Tackling Climate in the Global South" panel at the founding conference of the Global South Platform in Baku, APA reports.
He also mentioned that justice is essential for the Global South, and the resolution of issues is possible only when the principle of justice is ensured:
"As a strategic platform, the Global South is crucial for global financing, as well as climate projects, particularly for the Paris Climate Agreement. As representatives of civil society, our role in the formation of a just society is significant. We all recognize that justice for the Global South is important. The Republic of Azerbaijan has played a key role in bringing us together to discuss the issues that concern us all. Azerbaijan’s role in bringing together different parties, especially in ensuring the accessibility of COVID-19 vaccines, is significant."
