"I am glad to be in Azerbaijan. This is my first visit to the country as the acting chairman of the OSCE," said Ian Borg, OSCE Chair-in-Office, Minister for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Malta at a joint press conference with Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, APA reports.

"We discussed Azerbaijan's relations with Armenia after the conflict, security and humanitarian issues, and at the same time, we exchanged views on Azerbaijan's position in the negotiations and the challenges facing the country. Achieving lasting and comprehensive peace is the main priority for the OSCE. And in this direction, pragmatic and equal negotiations are important," he underlined.

"As OSCE, we also welcome the start of the delimitation process and we think that this process will continue in the upcoming months too. Dialogue is essential for long-term peace. I also mentioned in my meetings in Yerevan yesterday that the negotiations should be conducted in good faith in order to find solutions," he added.

The diplomat also emphasized that he will support pragmatic approaches as the OSCE chairman: "States should work for the future of their people."
