"Our nation, which is fighting for independence and democracy, is in danger of destruction," James Finies, the leader of the Bonaire Movement for Change told journalists, APA reports.

He underlined that the voice of the people living under colonial conditions should be conveyed to the world community:

"We and all nations living under colonial conditions like us are governed by the dictates of the colonial powers. These states change the laws at will to keep us dependent and suppress our voice. As we are a very strong nation, we came to Baku to shed light on the colonial problem we have been facing for many years. We are trying to make our voice heard by the wider world community. Only then will everyone understand what we want and that we need support at the international level."
