The visit to the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, and the destruction we witnessed there aroused feelings of sorrow in us and at the same time unique impressions, a member of the US Maine House of Representatives Deqa Dhalac said at a press conference at the Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center), APA reports.
She stated that she was on a visit to the liberated territories and shared her opinion about the restoration and construction works carried out by the Azerbaijani government in those regions: "Our visit to Shusha was unforgettable for me. I especially want to talk about the restoration and reconstruction works carried out by the Azerbaijani government in Shusha, Lachin, and other liberated territories over the past 4 years. Of course, the government is doing its best for the return of internally displaced persons to their homes as soon as possible. As part of these efforts, the process of clearing mines is currently underway at a rapid pace. This is, of course, a long process. I hope that the Republic of Azerbaijan will successfully complete this work."
The state's senator, Jill Duson, touched upon the importance of the 29th session of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, which will be held in Baku in November:
"COP29 is an important event organized to draw attention to the issue of climate change. The significance of your country hosting this conference indicates that Azerbaijan, rich in mineral deposits, attaches great importance to this problem. Naturally, we are interested in collaborating with your country on green energy and renewable energy sources, as well as in the field of advanced technologies. On the other hand, I believe that there are ample opportunities for significant partnerships, whether it be in combating climate change or in education, culture, agriculture, and other areas."
It was noted that currently, fruitful partnership opportunities are being considered in the State of Maine with the Azerbaijani side, such as the student exchange program at various levels of higher education, including the implementation of science, culture, and joint infrastructure projects.
